Champika signs MOU to support Sajith

The Ekasath Jana Raja Peramuna led by Champika Ranawaka today signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) extending support to Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.

The leader of Eksath Jana Raja Peramuna(EJRP) Patali Champika Ranawaka and the party secretary, Bandula Chandarasekara signed the MOU with Presidential Candidate Sajith Premadasa and SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara at the Grand Monarch hotel.

At the event the Chairman of the politburo Ekasath Jana Raja Peramuna, Karunaratne Paranawithana explained reasons for the political consensus to sign a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.

“Our party took an important decision, we don’t take decisions according to floating ideas, and we did not take decisions according to popularity waves. Our leaders took decisions by thinking of the requirements of the country, and acted to win that requirement”, he said.

According to him the country needs a sustainable economic stability, a refinement of the administrative system which has been soiled due to politics and corrupted administration. He added that people need a peaceful country which has harmony among all people which is governed by sympathetic leaders who protect democracy. Therefore they support SJB candidate Sajith Premadasa.

EJRP Leader Patali Champika Ranawaka addressing the event said that the upcoming election is not just a poll held to elect a president for next five years. “This election is a decisive election which will determine the next two decades as well as the future of children” he said.

 He pointed out that Sri Lanka had to pay debt 2029 obtained from foreign countries, but as the payment period has delayed 2039. The local debt has to be paid in 2042. Mr Ranawaka added that for 18 years Sri Lanka has to pay past debt.  He added that there is looming danger of the country being bankrupt.

“Next five years are extremely decisive, therefore the upcoming president and the government actions are very decisive for the children’s future”, he said

Presidential Candidate as well as leader of SJB, Sajith Premadasa said that the government in the future is not based on favoritism, but by gathering a group of talented people who focus on scientific skill and competence to the government system of our country, by gathering public representatives and those subject-oriented experts and government officials, an efficient friendly and developed country.

He added that they would remain on the middle path staying away from the extreme capitalist system or the extreme socialist system which takes an island mentality.

Smagi Jana Sandanaya presents the middle path which is Humanitarin capitalism.

He said that he believes in a capitalism which has humanity and sensitivity, even though capitalism creates wealth, it creates inequalities. Accordingly the people who have wealth become wealthier while the poor will fall into the abyss of poverty. Therefore, there is a need for limited government intervention.

Therefore social democratic policies are required to initiate the positive principles of humanistic capitalism to generate wealth in the social democratic system followed by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

“This wealth created would also be distributed to the society a fair way”, he added
