Clinical waste believed to be from Indian hospitals has washed ashore to northern beaches of Sri Lanka during the past week, fishermen have claimed. The waste have been found in several areas including Naninativu, Neduntivu, Punguduthivu and investigations have revealed that the waste was not from Sri Lankan hospitals.
Residents suspect that the clinical waste is from Indian hospitals dumped in to the sea. They have already alerted the officers of the Fisheries Inspection Office and the health officers of Jaffna.
