Several spells of showers will occur in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces and in Galle and Matara districts, the Meteorology Department forecasted.
The above areas will experience cloudy skies throughout the day. Meanwhile there is a possibility of rains or thundershowers at several places in Uva province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the afternoon or night.
The highest rainfall (117.7mm) during the past 24 hours was reported in Jaffna.
