The Colombo Port City Economic Commission bill presented to House for a second reading by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today.
Justice Minister Ali Sabry moved necessary amendments to the bill after Supreme Court has ruled that certain clauses of the bill are inconsistent with the Constitution and can only be passed by a special Parliamentary majority and by a referendum,
Parliament is due to hold a two-day debate on the Bill today and tomorrow, with a vote expected on Thursday evening.
