The initial meeting of the committee appointed to investigate the grounds for the country’s economic bankruptcy due to take place today (July 18).
The committee will meet in the parliamentary premises, the Chairman of the Committee, MP Sagara Kariyawasam said.
Political parties and Professionals who were capable of reviewing areas concerning the economic recession will be called simultaneously to the committee, he added.
The decisions related regarding the following phases of the committee will be made subsequent to the discussions with the committee members.
The members of the Samagi Jana Balavegaya (SJB) had recently decided to opt out of the committee’s membership.
MP Dilan Perera is opposed to the view of the assignment of MP Kariyawasam as the Chairman of the committee.
