A man was killed today evening after a cotton tree had fallen on a shop in Warapitiya, Balagolla in Kandy due to adverse weather conditions. Police said.
The owner of the shop as well as an employee were also injured during the incident and were admitted to Kandy hospital.
The police said that the tree which appeared top heavy was fully uprooted and fell directly on the shop.
