The Deputy Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Hemantha Herath has become a first level contact after an employee in his section was found to be COVID 19 positive, a senior official of the Health Ministry said.
Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa, the Director of the Health Promotion Bureau said Dr. Herath has obtained both doses of the vaccine and is currently at home.
He said the employee infected with the virus has not obtained a single dose of the COVID vaccine.
Dr. Batuwanthudawa said if the rapid antigen test conducted on the third day is negative, Dr. Herath can return to work as he is fully vaccinated.
