The Defence Ministry has issued a gazette removing the names of two individuals listed as wanted for terrorism-related activities.
Niklapillai Antony Emil Lakshmi Kanthan a.k.a Ramesh and Murugesu Sri Sanmugarajah have been removed from the list of wanted persons through a gazette extraordinary issued by Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Gen.Kamal Gunaratne under the United Nations Act No.45 of 1968.
The Gazette Extraordinary 1854/41 of March 21 2014 will also be amended by the removal of the above two names from the list of designated persons, groups and entities.
An Interpol Red notice was issued in July 2010 for Emil Kanthan over terrorism-related activities. Sanmugarajah was also listed in 2014 for terrorism-related activities.
