The verdict on the petition filed seeking a writ order to disentitle State Minister Diana Gamage from holding a parliamentary seat has been postponed by the Court of Appeal.
The order has been deferred to July 25, 2023.
The petition was heard by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Nissanka Bandula Karunaratne and Justice A. Marikkar.
A writ petition had been filed by civil activist Oshala Herath who raised the issue that Diana Gamage was ineligible to be in the service as a Member of the Sri Lankan Parliament owing to her British citizenship.
