The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has issued regulations that the weight of gas cylinders should be displayed clearly on the cylinder in future.
The relevant gazette notification has been issued on Sunday (25).
“The Consumer Affairs Authority directs that no manufacturer, distributor, dealer or trader of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders shall manufacture, store, distribute or display for sale, expose or offer for sale, wholesale or retail any domestic LPG cylinders unless the weight in kilograms is marked in a conspicuous place of such domestic cylinders”, the gazette notification said.
In addition, the CAA has gazetted the maximum price of the sale of the 9.6 Kg cylinder (18 lts). The prices vary according to the area.
