The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill under which benefits for former Presidents would be reduced has been gazetted.
Under the proposed bill , provisions in the existing Act to provide any residence, or monthly allowance paid to, a former President or the widow of a former President will be scrapped.
The monthly secretarial allowance paid to, and official transport and such other facilities provided to, a former President or the widow of a former President will also be scrapped.
The monthly pension paid to the widow of a former President also will be stopped.
