SJB MP and economist Dr. Harsha de Silva has denied reports that he was approached by the government to be appointed as a minister. “I have not had any discussion with any member of the government on any position,” he said in a tweet adding that he has always argued for an interim or all party government to rescue Sri Lanka from this crisis.
He was responding to a TimesOnline report that he and Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka were tipped to take up ministerial portfolios in the proposed all-party government to steer the country towards political and economic stability, according to informed sources. Mr. Fonseka was not immediately available for comment.
