Four persons were killed in three different accidents reported from the Ahangama, Doratiyawa and Ethimale police areas, Police said today.
A cab, driven by a drunken driver, travelling on the Kurunegala – Dambulla road at Doratiyawa collided with a three-wheeler and motor cycle coming from the opposite direction today morning.
The three-wheel driver and a passenger were killed and two others were injured in the incident.
The driver of the cab has been arrested.
In Ahangama, on the Galle – Matara road, a motorcyclist riding at high speed crashed into a car coming in from the opposite direction.
The motor cyclist, a 45 year old person from Matara was killed in the incident.
In Ethimale, a jeep knocked down a pedestrian who later succumbed to his injuries at hospital. He was 72 years old.
The jeep driver was arrested.
