The Election Commission has accepted the registration of 7 new political parties.
Already the existing seventy nine parties also have been registered.
The recognised Political Parties are ;
1. United Congress Party (UCP)
2. Dewana Parapura
3. Sri Lankawe Samaja Prajathanthrawadi Pakshaya.
4. Deshapremi Eksath Jathika Pakshaya
5. Bahujana Wiyath Peramuna
6. Eros Democratic Front (EDF)
7. Democratic People's Congress (DPC)
