The Election Commission (EC) today said that the Extraordinary Gazette notification on the date for nominations and presidential election will be announced tomorrow (26) in line with the Presidential Elections Act, No. 15 of 1981.
The EC also declared that they are not accountable for any remarks made by different people or political parties on the day of the presidential election or other constitutional events.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
