The Election Commission members will meet with Treasury officials tomorrow to decide on the new date for Local Government elections.
Meanwhile opposition Political parties have called the Election Commission to give the earliest possible date for the election.
Initially the election was scheduled to be held on March 9.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
