The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has granted permission to increase electricity tariffs with effect from today (October 20).
Accordingly, the tariffs will be increased by 18 per cent.
The proposed Electricity Tariffs Revisions for the domestic sector are as follows:
0-30 Units increased from Rs 10 to 12 (Fixed charges from Rs.150 to Rs. 180)
31-60 Units increased from Rs 25 to 30 (Fixed charges from Rs.300 to Rs. 360)
61-90 Units increased from Rs 35 to 41 (Fixed charges from Rs.400 to Rs. 480)
91-120 Units increased from Rs 50 to 59 (Fixed charges from Rs.1,000 to Rs.1,180)
121-180 Units increased from Rs 60 to 69 (Fixed charges from Rs.1,500 to Rs.1,770)
Over 180 units increased from Rs 75 to 89 (Fixed charges from Rs. 2,000 to Rs.2,360)
