Elephant carcass with gun shot injuries found
A carcass of a wild elephant with gun shots injuries has been found at Mathakada Ara,
Kavantissapura in Tissamaharama near Yala National Park according to the residents.
According to them the reason of its death is the guns shot injuries to one of it's legs.
It is said that the spot where elephant is dead is surrounded by Chenas cultivated in a large scale.
Further investigations are conducted by Uva Zonal Wild Life Assistant Director Upul Indrajith.
