The Excise Department has given approval to W.M. Mendis and Co Ltd. owned by Arjun Aloysius’s Perpetual Group to release liquor to the market.
A senior official of Excise Department said W.M.Mendis and Co ‘s liquor license was cancelled due to non-payment of taxes four years ago.
However following an agreement between both parties, permission has been granted for the production and distribution of liquor, he said.
