Expect cloudy skies and heavy rains today

Showers or thundershowers are predicted for multiple areas in the island today (16) after 1:00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said.

Northern, North-central, Eastern, Southern, Central and Uva Provinces will have occasional showers.

Morning showers are likely in North-Western Province.

Heavy rainfall over 100mm is possible at certain parts of Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, North-western and Eastern Provinces.

Much of the island will see cloudy skies today, the Met Dept. further noted.
