An automated facial recognition system has been placed at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) today (6) to identify individuals who might be involved in criminal activity.
The initiative was enforced in an effort to identify any departing or arriving individuals who may be involved in any unlawful activities, under the directive of Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles and Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon.
