Two unidentified gunmen on a motorbike shot dead a 39-year-old man at a house in Katukurunda, Kalutara South last night.
Police said the victim was a resident of Kalamulla, Kalutara and had been staying on rent at the house in Katukurunda. His 8-year-old daughter was also injured in the shooting and has been admitted to the Nagoda Hospital for treatment.
No motive has been established for the shooting, which had been committed using a T56 firearm, according to investigations conducted so far. The suspects remain unidentified and Kalutara South Police are conducting investigations to arrest them.
