The funeral of the Custodian & Chief Priest of Maha Bodhi and Atamasthanadhipathi Most Venerable Dr. Pallegama Siriniwasa Nayaka Thera was held today (22) in Anuradhapura.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena and former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa were among those who paid their final respects to the Thera.

A large number of Buddhist monks and devotees were present during the funeral of the Nayaka Thera today.
