Police, Air Force and Army personnel have been deployed to control a raging fire in Galpottahena forest reserve in Urubokka since Tuesday(01) night, police said.
Meanwhile, a forest fire that erupted in Nawanagala, Hunnasgiriya on Tuesday has been brought under control by Ududumbara police and forest rangers in Hunnasgiriya.
The present drought conditions are making it difficult to control the fires reported in forest areas all over the country.
