The New Zealand government with the concurrence of Sri Lanka has appointed Michael Edward Appleton as the first High Commissioner of New Zealand to Sri Lanka based in Colombo, Foreign Ministry said.
He has presented credentials to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today at President’s House, Colombo 01.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
