The first round of deposit for the 2025 Local Government Elections was made in the Matale District today, the District election office said.
The deposit was made by a group of candidates contesting independently for the Matale Pradeshiya Sabha.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
