A fisherman was killed while two others managed to escape after their boat capsized in the Kalpitiya area due to adverse weather conditions today, Police said.
Two other fishermen had managed to swim to the shore.
The victim was identified as Ajith Chandra kumara, 35, a resident of Kandakuliya.
They had gone out for fishing early today.
Kalpitiya Police Acting OIC CI Shan Munasinghe said fishermen had been warned not to go out for fishing due to the rough sea condition and strong winds.
