Deputy Inspector General (DIG) U.P.A.D.K.P Karunanayake of the Community Police and Environment Protection Range has been transferred as the DIG Traffic (Western province).
DIG G.I.D.R.Wijesinghe who served as the Traffic DIG of Western province has been transferred as the DIG (Galle division).
DIG (Batticaloa) L.A.U.Sarath Kumara has been transferred as the DIG in charge of Western province Crimes Range.
The DIG Crimes in Western province W.K.J.R. Dias has been transferred as the DIG Community Police and Environment Protection Range with immediate effect.
The Deputy Inspector General in charge of Galle A.L.U.N.P. Liyanage has been transferred as the DIG (Batticoloa). Police said the transfers, approved by the Police Commission, were made by the Inspector General of Police on the instruction of the Secretary, Ministry of Public Security.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
