The Criminal Investigation Department today arrested former Navy Commander Admiral (Retired) Nishantha Ulugetenne over an alleged disappearance of a youth.
The disappearance had reportedly taken place when he was serving as the as the Director of Naval Intelligence.
The youth had disappeared in the Pothuhera area of the Kurunegala district.
He was appointed as the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy on July 15, 2020, by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
An Attorney at law and his wife was shot dead in the car park of a super market in Akuregoda today evening.
