A group of inmates at Kandakadu Treatment and Rehabilitation Center have broken out following a clash last night (24).
At least 40 inmates have escaped during the incident, according to the Commissioner General of Rehabilitation.
Accordingly, the Police have intervened to stabilize the situation and security in the rehabilitation centre has been increased following the incident.
Earlier on January 12 following a dispute between two groups of prisoners housed at the rehabilitation facility at least sixty inmates escaped. Most of them were rearrested.
