Four suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing of a 17-year-old boy during a clash between two groups in Grandpass last night (25).
Police said two persons who had suffered cut injuries during the clash in Orugodawatte, Grandpass were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital last night and one of them later succumbed to his injuries.
The 17-year-old victim is a resident of Weheragodella, Wellampitiya.
Initial investigations have revealed that the clash was the result of a long-standing personal dispute and that one group had arrived at the victim's home with sharp weapons and started a clash with the victim and the people who were with him.
The Colombo Crime Division (CCD) initiated investigations into the incident and arrested four suspects along with two swords and a manna knife allegedly used to commit the crime.
The arrested suspects are aged 31, 32 and 36 years of age and are residents of Wellampitiya. Grandpass Police and the CCD are investigating.
