The Karuwalagas wewa police officials had arrested four individuals yesterday, who were excavating in a private property in search of archeological artifacts.
The police said they inspected the area following a tip off made to them. They said that they arrested the four individuals and the equipment they used to excavate the private property. The four suspects which were identified as residents of Maha Uswewa area in Karuwalagaswewa.
The police said that the suspects are to be produced before Puttalam Magistrate courts today.
