President Ranil Wickremesinghe has approved steps to double the fuel quota issued for three-wheelers from 5 litres to 10.
As the first stage, registrations of three-wheelers in the Western Province will commenced from November 1 while QR code fueling on the new increased quota will commenced on November 6, the President's Media Division (PMD) said.
Other provinces too will follow this process in stages, the PMD added.
Meanwhile. three-wheeler drivers' unions announced that following the increase of the fuel quota, they have decided to reduce the 1st kilometre fare by Rs. 20.
