A further 90-day detention order (DO) has been obtained against former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen and his brother Riyaj Bathiudeen to conduct further investigations, police spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said earlier a 72-hour detention order was obtained by the CID Director as per the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) which terminated by this morning.
The TID and the CID is to conducted investigation to ascertain scientific, oral, documentary and other technological evidence over the offences of aiding and abetting the suicide bombers, the DIG said.
Former Minister Bathiudeen and his brother were arrested last Saturday (24) at his Wellawatta residence under the PTA.
