GMOA suspends Wednesday’s strike
The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) has decided to suspend the proposed island wide strike on Wednesday, until March 21.
The decision was taken following a meeting with the Health Minister Dr Nalinda Jayatissa.
GMOA Secretary Dr Prabath Sugathadasa said that they decided to suspend the strike action until the third reading of the budget, thereby giving time to revise their decision or reducing allowances of doctors.
The Government had decided to reduce additional duty and holiday allowances of doctors.
