The forensic analysis of the bus that toppled off the road in the Garendi Ella area of Kotmale is being conducted by an officer of the Government Analyst's Department at the Kotmale Police Station.
The analysis report will be part of an inquiry by an especially appointed committee of police heads.
So far, 24 people have died of their injuries, with the latest being a 21 year old from Tissamaharamaya who passed away at the Gampola hospital this morning.
Some victims have been discharged while others, including children, are in critical condition in hospitals in Nawalapitiya, Gampola, Peradeniya, and Nuwara Eliya.
Officers at Kotmale Police Station told the Sunday Times that the bus had to be cut apart in order to safely evacuate survivors at the scene on Sunday.

A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
