Gangani Kalpana Liyanage, Head of the Government Printing Press, said that the book printing division of the Government Printing Press was closed from today (28) after it was confirmed that four employees, including the head of the division, had been infected with Covid.
Twenty-nine employees who were close associates of the four Covid-infected workers have been quarantined, she said.
Officials say the government printing press premises were completely disinfected after Covid infections were reported.
Meanwhile, Ms. Kalpana Liyanage said that steps have been taken to call employees of the Government Printing Press to duty in batches due to the risk of Covid.
