Sri Lanka has appealed to India to provide B’onions for a three-month period to overcome possible shortages.
Accordingly, it has requested to provide 25,000 Mt each for three months.
Meanwhile, the Government has appealed to Pakistan to grant concessionary payment schemes for purchase of B’onions.
In view of the demand for onions, the price of a kilo of B’onions has shot up to Rs 550.
