Govt survey on state buildings

News

The Ministry of Finance has called for information of buildings utilised by government institutions in order to ensure proper management of non- financial assets of the government.

Issuing an asset management circular this week, Secretary to Treasury S.R. Attygalle urged heads of state institutions to update information of buildings owned, rented or leased by the government institutions as of December 31 last year.

Among the details requested by the Treasury are: value of the building, utilisation details, number of employees working at the building, electricity cost, building space/floors etc.

The duly filled details should be forwarded to the Comptroller General's Office before March 15.
