A gunman who shot a rival surrendered to the Hulangama police, today evening.
According to the police the 41 year old gunman had shot his 31 year old rival over a personal dispute.
The deceased has been identified as Disanayaka Mudiyanselage Dinesh Kelum Kumara a resident of Pinigama. He was a father of a daughter
The victim had been shot when he was buying goods.
The police arrested the surrendered suspect who handed over the 12 bore gun which he used to shoot the rival. The investigations further revealed that the gun which he had used was a registered one.
Hungama police said that they are conducting further investigations.
Police said that initial investigations revealed that a long standing dispute led to the shootings.
