Former Minister Harin Fernando today assumed duties as the Deputy General Secretary of the United National Party.
Assuming duties at the Party Headquarters he said that the first task set for him was to organise 1000 meetings islandwide.
He said the call from the supporters is that the UNP and the SJB should unite.
Mr Fernando said that it was clear that this government does not have a vision to implement programmes.
'The simple example is that they cannot still give number plates for the imported vehicles ', he said.
