The Health Ministry has banned the display of black flags in premises of hospitals and medical institutions, but trade unions are opposing the move.
The Ministry has cited that display of black flags can endanger the mental condition of patients who are facing a threat to their lives.
A circular issued by the Ministry says that black flags also pose a threat to the mental health of the staff working in medical institutions.
The Ministry points out that it has been observed that some trade union action create obstacles to the goal of treating patients and saving lives in the current socio-economic situation .
The Spokesman of the Government Medical Officers Association stated that they would be arriving at a decision on their reaction on Tuesday.
