Heavy military presence can be seen in fuel stations all over the country.
With the announcement of petrol issuing only for essential services at Ceypetco stations and token system in place, military personnel have been deployed to control unruly situations in sheds and to avoid clashes between frustrated motorists and police.
The Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) last night announced that it will limit the issuance of petrol for vehicles with immediate effect.
Accordingly, motorcycles will be issued petrol for Rs. 1500 at one time while three-wheelers will get petrol only for Rs. 2500. Cars, vans and other four wheelers can obtain fuel worth Rs. 7000.
