Most of the island will experience showers or thundershowers today after 1:00 pm, the Department of Meteorology said.
Occasional rains are predicted for Eastern, Northern and Uva Provinces.
A few showers are due in North-Central Province.
Moderately heavy rains above 50mm are expected at certain areas in Ampara, Batticaloa and Badulla Districts.
Parts of Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces along with Galle and Matara Districts will see heavy rainfall over 100mm.
