Heavy showers about 100 mm are likely to occur in the northern, central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and the Galle and Matara districts today, the Meteorological Department said.
Due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of Sri Lanka, showery condition is expected to enhance over the island.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Northern, Eastern and North-central provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere during the afternoon or night.
