A 58 year old man from Balangoda was arrested over the suspected murder of a 75 year old woman in Hettimulla, Beruwala, police said.
The victim, Shanti Jayasinghe’s body was found in her garden two days ago with severe head injuries.
Police said the suspect was a helper at the victim’s house in which she lived alone. The suspect was arrested in Mirihana by officers attached to the Beruwala police.
Initial investigations revealed that there have been arguments between the duo over salary payment.
Beruwala police is conducting further investigation.
