The Parliamentary Committee on High Posts approved the nomination of former Chief Justice Jayantha Chandrasiri Jayasuriya P.C to be appointed as Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York.
The Commitee also approved Mahinda Dasa Ratnayake, to be appointed as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Cuba and Professor Pivithuru Janak Kumarasinghe as the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Japan.
Nimal Upali Senadheera name was approved for appointment as High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The Committee on High Posts is headed by Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and consists of both government and opposition MPs.
