Water falls in the upcountry have been activated with the heavy rains in the past few days. Among the water falls have been Devon, St Clair, Diyagala, Lakshapana where the water levels have been high.

The Department of National Zoological Gardens is readying enclosures to quarantine two large tortoises that were found stranded 15 kilometers westwards off Pitipana Negombo, today.
