A dana ceremony was held at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo today following the seventh day of the passing of Ven. Galboda Gnanissara Thero, the Chief Incumbent of Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo.
One of Sri Lanka’s most widely known Buddhist prelates, Venerable Galboda Gnanissara Thera popularly known as “Podi Hamuduruwo” passed away on Friday (2).
The Gangaramaya Temple, under the direction of Podi Hamuduruwo, became a vibrant centre that started a number of initiatives to improve the lives of people from all walks of life, including educational workshops, career training programmes, and humanitarian missions.
