An elephant fallen in an abandoned well in Mahakumbukkadawala, Puttalam district was rescued after three hour long operation today.
The elephant around 20 years had fallen in the early hours today. Wildlife officils supported by the villagers rescued the elephant.
However, as the elephant had attacked the beko used for the rescue operation.The Wildlife officials had managed to drive away the elephant into the jungle.
